Aside from the 5 nasty blisters on my feet (no thanks to inappropriate footwear), muscle ache everywhere, a slight sunburn and a deflated ego, the first riding lesson was pretty cool.

Uh, well, maybe take away the smelly, overused helmets and elbow/knee guards too.

I think I'd better get my own helmet, else I'd probably have to, like what a fellow learner suggested, wash my hair at least 3 times after every lesson. Hah.

Overall, the experience was great but pretty nerve-wrecking though.

It looked easy, and I thought it would be so, but, oh well. Having to control the throttle, gear, clutch and the annoyingly omnipresent brakes all at the same time was tough.

It's my first try ever, so I shouldn't be faulted for having problems coordinating my hands and feet, or possessing fear that the bike might just fly off and crash anytime, right?

Shit I sound like a loser, but hey, at least I was able to get the bike moving! Just need more practice!

I've got to:
  • relax, stop gripping too hard and end up exploding my veins;
  • stop worrying about the rpm level;
  • stop twisting the throttle grip too much;
  • stop releasing the clutch when I'm not supposed to;
  • stop braking too much and too hard;
  • remember that the rear brake exists;
  • learn how to negotiate bends properly; and
  • just let it fly.
That's sadly a long list and I'm praying I can master them all before the New Year!

Hooha!
